Status of Tabulus

Are you guys still trading? Your phone number is unreachable from the UK, the forum is dead, my email unanswered, and staff at Vectorworks are saying they think that Tabulus has closed. You're offering to take my money on this site, but I'm increasingly concerned that Tabulus is abondonware. Please explain the current status of Tabulus as a company and as a product.
If you aren't trading I'll be seriously unamused, as I've just invested a lot of time in evaluating the product...

Hello Bryan,
Yes it is true the initial plan for TABULUS was for financial data. Since TABULUS was released we receive new examples of uses for TABULUS beyond financials on a daily basis. The flexibility of TABULUS and the structured approach on how data is handled makes the possibilities endless.
To get you started I recommend watching the training videos under the "Videos" menu on our site. There are also a few training items via Amazon.com. Just search for TABULUS. Jonathan Pickup (world rebound Vectorworks trainer) has been creating TABULUS training items. Jonathan has committed to continuing his line of TABULUS training so more items are to come.
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=tabulus&x=0&y=0
As you mention there are many different uses for TABULUS so if you have a request that is not within the training materials we have provided please feel free to contact us by phone 443-595-0066 or e-mail support@tabulus.com
We also have an extensive list of template files under the “Examples” menu. If you have any suggestions or requests please let us know.

Obviously Tabulus was designed to operate well within a certain data paradigm, namely business intelligence.
What information resources would you recommend for new users of Tabulus and who are new to working in this type of data?
Also, what is typically the source of the data table information? Where does it come from and in what formats?
What would be really helpful for people new to this area of information is a video or document that starts from basic assumptions about the information a user of Tabulus would be dealing with, what it means, and how to use Tabulus to extract useful information from it. Start with someone coming to you who says... "What is 'Business Intelligence' and how can I use Tabulus to acquire it?"
I am sure to most in the world of finance, accouting, business management, etc. This may seem like a question answered in Accounting 101, but some of us who will be using this tool come from different fields of information and are now put in positions of making decisions about their operations and/or business directions, and do not have the same background as others who will use this tool.
So how do I get started?
Thank you,
-Bryan

What do I need to do to make the field change to auto? I tried typing "Auto" in, but that doesn't seem to do anything.

We have added a new feature in TABULUS 2010 SP1 which makes moving of category items from columns to rows very easy. Simply drag an item header from columns for example and drop it in row headers area.
A dialog appears.
Answer "Yes" and the result is:

This feature is implemented in TABULUS 2010 SP1. You can define formula scope as shown:
(formula calculates only in November and December of 2005, 2006 and 2007)

I created a chart and was trying different settings for the y-axis (in the options dialog). I changed the Maximum amount for Scale and can't figure out how to get it back to auto. Is there a way to do this? I tried typing in "Auto" again and hitting Apply, but that doesn't seem to work.

Tabulus Viewer?

No editing, just viewing, copying and pasting. I would probably say no new worksheet creation either. It would be nice if they had the ability to change the calendar period in reports, however.
I think it would be a good marketing tool as well because you'd actually get people used to seeing things in Tabulus, it makes it one step closer to wanting to use it. The people with the information get to control the tools!

A TABULUS viewer is a consideration but at this time we do not have a
viewer only version. To what level would do you see is needed for
people to work with your files? Will there be a need to take your data
and make edits, create their own worksheets, etc?

I hate having to convert my files to Excel and reformat them in order to share with others. Have you considered a viewer version that doesn't allow editing or saving but allows people to open and view Tabulus files? Even just a disabled demo version (no printing or saving) might serve the purpose here...
