I've only spent a couple days with the product so far, but know everyone has been working hard on it and wanted to share my thoughts so far. First of all, WOW. This is one of those tools that you didn't realize you needed until you saw it in action. To take one set of data and show it monthly, then quarterly then yearly and by product, distributor, and region without using pivot tables is really useful. I've been converting a 9 tab Excel file to TABULUS and the efficiency/accuracy gains are impressive. Right now I use a melange of Filemaker/Excel and programming to make this happen reliably.
Secondly, I think you really need a quick video overview. The basic concepts (like categories) that separate TABULUS from Excel aren't too complex but also aren't very discoverable without a quick intro. Yeah, I should read the reference manual but I really want a quick start tutorial.
Finally, just a couple notes on where I'd put my future effort:
1) Direct Excel support. Let me import and export directly to Excel format. Particularly, let me save a TABULUS sheet as a multi-tab Excel file. I know the magic will disappear but doesn't all the data need to end up in Excel or Powerpoint until you take over the world?
2) Graphing. Maybe this isn't so important if you improve the Excel support, but graphs that copy and paste directly to Powerpoint would be a timesaver.
3) Large Data Sets. I moved to Filemaker to process large data sets that Excel wouldn't handle. For example, my main sales export is 360,000 rows which isn't supported by TABULUS right now.
Congrats and good luck!
Sean

Thanks Sean for the positive feedback. We have built TABULUS to help simplify the creation of financial spreadsheets, so proper handling of the months, quarters, and years was a big concern. Let us know if you need different layouts which are not provided.
A series of videos will be probably be the best way to get people started with the product. We have concentrated first on the help files. The interface is not complete yet, so I felt it was better to work on the help files first. We will be working on some outlines and scripts for the videos starting this week. I hope to have these out for the next version, with the changes in the interface. The main change will be a new interface for editing formulas. However, we are also changing minor items everyday in response to our own tests, and feedback.
On your notes:
1) Excell import and export are on the list for version 1. We are finishing up some elements in the current import, prior to starting. I put in a note about multiple sheet output. This is not a problem technically, it is just a matter of time. If it doesn't show up for V1, it may be in an early update.
2) Graphs should copy and paste now.
3) We are working on the large data sets now. We are looking at 2,000,000 category items as an upper limit. This would correspond to rows in Excel.

Excel import/export and copy and paste of charts in external programs were implemented in TABULUS 2010.
